To apply for your green CSCS Labourer card you must be aged 16+ and have a recognised construction health and safety qualification, such as the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification. You must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within the past two years. Providing you have passed the Operative CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and have completed a recognised construction health and safety qualification, you are then eligible to apply for the green CSCS labourers card.

To apply for your blue CSCS skilled worker card you must be able to prove competence within your trade or occupational area. This will generally be following successful completion of a Level 2 Construction related NVQ or SVQ. You must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within the past two years. Providing you have passed the Operative CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and have completed a recognised construction related Level 2 qualification, you are then eligible to apply for the blue CSCS skilled worker card.

To apply for your gold CSCS supervisors card you must have completed a construction related supervisory Level 3 or 4 NVQ or SVQ. You must have passed the CITB Supervisors Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within the past two years. Providing you have passed the Supervisors CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and have completed a recognised construction related Level 3 or 4 qualification, you are then eligible to apply for the gold CSCS supervisors card.

To apply for your black CSCS managers card you must have completed a construction related managerial Level 5, 6 or 7 NVQ or SVQ. You must have passed the CITB managers and professionals Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within the past two years. Providing you have passed the managers and professionals CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and have completed a recognised construction related Level 5, 6 or 7 qualification, you are then eligible to apply for the black CSCS managers card.
