Course Outline
Suitable For:
The SVQ Level 2 Diploma in Steelfixing Occupations (Construction) is suitable for steel fixers who have experience in the construction industry.
Entry Requirements:
Learners must be aged 16+ and competent in their current job role as a steel fixer. All candidates will need to complete an initial assessment with their allocated assessor before registration.
Duration:
The average qualification completion time is 6-12 Weeks
The period of the course will significantly depend on the candidates’ interest, motivation and availability.
To achieve this qualification, all candidates will be assessed via OSAT (On-Site Assessment and Training) or remote assessments which will take place at the learners’ workplace.
Candidates will be allocated an expert assessor who will support them during the course and carry out all the necessary assessment procedures required to successfully complete the qualification.
The assessment process will consist of a range of communication methods and evidence collection processes tailored around the individual learner needs. Evidence is gathered by means of videos, photographs, On-site assessments, observations, written questions, workplace documents, professional discussions and witness testimonies. Your assessor will support you throughout the process.
Upon successfully completion of the course, you will be awarded a SVQ Steelfixing Occupations (Construction) SCQF level 5 (Equivalent to a NVQ Level 2). You can apply for a blue ‘skilled worker’ CSCS card using your NVQ Diploma along with a valid CITB Health and Safety Test which must be achieved within the last two years.
